The success of national achievement is not only measured by the achievement of economic development alone, but also seen from the development of the quality of human life. In general, the achievement of building human capabilities in the fields of education, health and economy has shown significant progress. However, has the development of human capability in Indonesia provided the same benefits between men and women? Are there still gaps in the achievement of basic capability building between men and women that lead to issues of gender inequality and injustice? This publication tries to answer this question by presenting human development indicators, namely the Human Development Index (HDI), the Gender Development Index (IPG) and the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG). IPM provides an overview of the development of basic human capabilities in the fields of education, health and economics. Similar to HDI, IPG also measures basic human capabilities in all three areas, but is focused on inequality between men and women. By comparing the two indicators, it can be seen whether there is a gap in human development between men and women. The lower achievement of HDI compared to HDI, shows that there are still gender gaps in the three development fields, while IDG is an indicator to see the role of women in the economy, politics and decision making.
