Consumer Price Index / Inflation Aceh Province May 2021

In Geneal, the development of prices for various commodities in May 2021 generally showed an increase. In May 2021 there was inflation of 0.25 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.83 in April 2021 to 107.10 in May 2021.

Inflation that occurred in Aceh (Combined 3 Cities) occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 0.41 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and household fuel groups by 0.04 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.20 percent; health group by 0.14 percent; transportation group by 0.35 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.09 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.92 percent. Expenditure groups experiencing deflation, namely: clothing and footwear by 0.04 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.01 percent; and recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that did not change was the education group.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–May) 2021 is 0.53 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2021 to May 2020) is 2.27 percent.
