Profile of Poverty and Inequality of Population Expenditure in Aceh Province March 2020

In March 2020, the number of poor people in Aceh was 814 thousand people (14.99 percent), an increase of 5 thousand people compared to the poor population in September 2019 which numbered 809 thousand people (15.01 percent). Meanwhile, compared to March the previous year, the number of poor people fell by 4 thousand people (15.32 percent).

During the period September 2019 - March 2020, the percentage of poor people in rural areas decreased while in urban areas increased. In urban areas, the percentage of poor people rose by 0.37 points (from 9.47 percent to 9.84 percent), while in rural areas it fell 0.22 points (from 17.68 percent to 17.46 percent).
