Palm oil is a commodity in the plantation subsector which is still the favorite in Subulussalam City. Together with other agricultural subsectors, the agricultural sector is able to contribute 23.91% of the total GRDP of Subulussalam City or around IDR 553 billion rupiah. The importance of the existence of oil palm plantation activities can also be seen from the absorption of labor which is dominated by oil palm farmers in Subulussalam City. In its development, it is important to carry out in-depth studies and discussions regarding economic development and its role in the GRDP of Subulussalam City.
To accommodate this forum, Subulussalam City BPS held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Role of the Economic Sector in Subulussalam City's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The FGD brought together important stakeholders and main actors related to this theme, such as the Regional Secretary, Bappeda, the Economic Section of the Regional Secretariat, the Department of Agriculture, Food Crops and Horticulture, the Food Service, Diskominfo, DPMP2T, the Palm Oil Association, Andalan Farmer Fisherman Contact, PT palm plantations in Subulussalam City as well as academic partners, namely STIT Havas and the Open University.
The FGD which was held in the Subulussalam City BPS Hall on Tuesday, December 10 2024 was opened by the Regional Secretary Mr. Sairun, S.Ag, filled by Aceh Province BPS resource person Mr. Tasdik Ilhamudin S.Si, M.Si and Subulussalam City BPS resource person Mr. M .Thariq Alfatih, S.Tr.Stat.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has an important role in compiling, managing and utilizing Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data at the regional level. The role of BPS includes: Providing Economic Data and Information, Standardized GRDP Calculations, and Increasing Economic Data Literacy.
